Our Story · Est. 2018

A hair atelier
without a template.

Maison Noir began as a quiet rebellion — against factory salons, against algorithmic beauty, against choosing between craft and progress.

Maison Noir atelier interior

2018 — Paris

A studio built on two obsessions.

Founder Ines Rao trained under Christophe Robin before opening the first Maison Noir on Rue Saint-Honoré. Her thesis was simple: a stylist's intuition is irreplaceable, but their memory shouldn't be.

Six years later, our proprietary AI has learned from 200,000 client outcomes — not to replace the stylist, but to give them a memory that spans an entire craft.

“We wanted to build the salon we would want to visit — patient, precise, and quietly modern.”

Ines Rao, Founder

01

Craft first

Every stylist trains for two years before touching a chair at Maison Noir. And continues, every quarter, for the rest of their career.

02

Intelligence, quietly

AI is a tool for the stylist — never a replacement for the guest's voice. It remembers so you don't have to.

03

One standard

Whether Paris, Bombay or New York — every atelier holds the same signature, the same formulas, the same unhurried welcome.

    Bombay

    The second atelier

A ground-floor space in Colaba. Nadia Haddad joins as senior colourist, bringing a decade of correction work.

    AI meets the atelier
